Here we go again...
Another year, another month and another moment in time in which we might pause to acknowledge that we're back to it again and here we go again.
Or we might choose to pause, to take stock and decide that we'd rather do it differently, in some way or another, from now on?
We need shelter and sustenance (plus a few other things) for our well being so, hi-ho hi-ho it's back to work we go. And if not to work then to study or to whatever it is that fills our day. But how do we feel about it? And where do we feel it in our body? What do we think about it? And how does the way we think and the way we feel, including the physical symptoms affect how we go about it and is our way of doing it sustainable?
These are some of the questions that we might ponder in a counselling session. Rather than letting life just happen to us we can choose to actively engage our minds and respond in kind rather than react out of habit. This kind of change doesn't usually happen by chance but can happen when we decide that being true to ourselves trumps the status quo. Out of love and respect for ourselves we can choose what we need, how we gain what we need and the cost and benefit associated with this. This does not release us from loving and respecting others but enhances all our interactions and our overall well being.
