It's what we need to do

Lockdown Stage 4 is not something that we imagined that Victorian’s would be inflicted with nor did Melbourne residents imagine that they would ever be living with a curfew. But this is what we all need to join together to do, given the rate of infection and the consequences, to beat it!

C’mon, Victoria! Neil Mitchel launched the “#Whatweneedtodo” campaign. Complete with a song. So this is what we know and what we’ve been asked to do…

verse 1

“We don’t stand so close in Supermarket aisles,

We’ve got to keep our masks on just for a little while,

And if it’s safe to stay at home, then just stay at home.

We’ve got to all grow up and do whatever helps us move along”

Chorus

“It’s not about me, It’s not about you. It’s about all of us together. It’s #what we need to do.”

verse 2

“We don’t need to hug and or kiss someone hello,

You can share the love and get it on, much later on.

And if you think this craziness will all be over soon,

We’ve got a long way to go so it’s what we need to do”.

By all means, we do need to stay in doors, rug up, be comfy, indulge in hot mugs of soup, coffee, tea, while we binge on Netflix and be a couch potato for a bit but please don’t become dormant and remain inactive remaining indoors all day every day. We need one another and we need to stay connected, to talk, to move around and to get outside for some fresh air, the occasional burst of glorious sunshine and muffled conversation with passers by and their pets. If you need some help finding a positive spin then google the campaign and sing along :)

We need to find a way to habituate not hibernate and to adapt to this new environment whether we like it or not…Cause it’s Whatweneedtodo!
