Self awareness
Self awareness is the ability to tune into our thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
Knowing what we are thinking…usually something unhelpful or untrue.
Being able to articulate this…usually something negative or down playing our actual capacity.
Challenging this…recognising that we are caught up in random thoughts and can alleviate them.
Can help us to think better about ourselves.
Knowing what we are feeling…given that our feelings change frequently.
Being able to name these feelings…given that they fluctuate
Expressing these…recognising that we are feeling something for a reason and can clarify them.
Can help us to feel better about ourselves.
Knowing what we are doing…in response to what we are thinking and how we feeling.
Being able to make sense of this…helps us to make sense of what we are doing.
Regulating our actions…recognising that we behave according to what we think and feel
Can help us to feel better about ourselves.
As we think, so we feel and do!
