Satisfied?
What satisfies us?
A delicious, flavoursome meal?
A refreshing, cool glass of water?
A coffee meet up with a friend?
A job done?
As simple as Dishes - tick, Essay- tick, Weeding - tick, Blogging - tick
We have the opportunity to thrive. To feel good about some things, to reflect on who we are, what we have, what we have done, to feel calm and to be ok…yay!
Yet we often focus on survival. We belittle ourselves, blame/shame ourselves, unconsciously or not, in order to meet unrealistic expectations. By focusing on the difficulties or seeming failures we reduce our calm so we are not ok…sigh!
We all have unique qualities, we all have a set of values and we all need goals to aim for.
But maybe we have raised the bar too high.
And maybe others have raised the bar too high.
This bar might have been perceived, it might be fact or fiction. But now, it is ours to set :)
The bar we set needs to be our chosen standard.
We need to feel good about our present choices and probably need to address past choices or our lack of conscious self regulating choice.
We want to be ok and we want to inform others re what that might look like going forward.
We can help our levels of satisfaction by
Viewing ourselves with compassion,
Being curious and empathic toward others and
Choosing our path.
After all it is our responsibility to manage our own thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
